Masaki Kajikawa, Lecturer
0 student voices
The Kajikawa Lab studies transposable elements found in the genomes of living organisms. Organisms' genomes contain millions of copies of transposable elements. The lab aims to clarify the mechanisms by which transposable elements amplify. It also investigates what transposable elements mean for genome function and evolution, with retrotransposons and epigenetics as its research keywords.

Takehiko Itoh, Professor
0 student voices
The Itoh Lab conducts bioinformatics research, decoding large-scale genome sequence data through computational analysis. Its targets are massive amounts of genome and RNA sequence data, typified by data from next-generation sequencers. By applying a variety of computational analysis techniques, the lab takes on the challenge of elucidating biological phenomena. It also develops new computational methods for determining genome sequences accurately.

Fumi Kano, Professor
0 student voices
The Kano Lab aims to establish "cell editing engineering," a field that designs and edits cells. The lab pursues interdisciplinary research that combines cell engineering experiments with bioinformatics and mathematical analysis. As its foundation, the lab has developed two technologies: resealed cell technology and covariation network analysis. The lab aims to put its results to use in society, not only in basic life science but also as technologies that support drug discovery and cell-based medicines.

Takao Yasui, Program-Specific Professor
0 student voices
Yasui Lab researches the creation of new measurement principles from chemistry. Building on nanomaterials and nanodevices, the lab develops methods to observe life at the level of molecules and tiny particles. It is developing the technologies obtained this way into diagnostics that lead to early detection of disease. The lab is located within the School of Engineering at Nagoya University.
