An industry-academia joint lab where Nagoya University and Raqualia Pharma work to create new drugs.

AboutAbout the lab
Driving drug discovery research across the boundary between industry and academia
The Raqualia Pharma Industry-Academia Collaborative Lab is a joint research lab run by Nagoya University and Raqualia Pharma Inc.
Through industry-academia collaboration, its mission is to create new drugs from the Chubu region.
It consists of the Pharmacological Efficacy Analysis Division, the Translational Research Division, and the New Drug Creation Science Division, and is housed within the Research Institute of Environmental Medicine.
Each division also functions as a research team with the Graduate School of Medicine and the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the lab describes itself as the link that ties these three units together in advancing drug discovery research.
Key terms
- Screening
- The process of selecting compounds that have a desired activity from among a large number of compounds
- Translational research
- Research that aims to connect findings from basic research to the treatment of human diseases
- Pharmacokinetics
- How a drug is absorbed, distributed, and eliminated in the body
