Akito Miura
0 student voices
The Miura Lab investigates the act of human dancing using scientific methods. It takes up situations where people express themselves with their bodies, such as ballet, street dance, and playing musical instruments. Through movement measurement and breathing recordings, the lab clarifies how different parts of the body are coordinated. From there, it explores how human sociality and creativity come about.

The Kadota Lab is a cognitive science lab that closely observes and studies interaction between people. The lab looks not only at spoken language but also at bodily movements such as pointing, gaze, and handing over objects. Through experiments, it tests how the choice of demonstratives such as 'kore,' 'sore,' and 'are' (roughly 'this,' 'that,' and 'that over there') changes depending on what is visible to the other person. The lab records conversations and interview situations on video and analyzes in detail how the interaction unfolds.
