In the Plasma Science Division of the Low-Temperature Plasma Science Research Center, Associate Professor Takayoshi Tsutsumi specializes in plasma electronics and studies plasma processes and plasma diagnostics and measurement. Associate Professor Tsutsumi is also a faculty member of the research group "Plasma Nanoprocess Science" in the Department of Electronics (a cooperating chair with the Low-Temperature Plasma Science Research Center). This group's research fields are broad, including thin-film silicon solar cells, GaN power devices, plasma medical science, and agricultural and environmental applications.

The Green DX Plasma Division is a research division of the Low-Temperature Plasma Science Research Center, working on standardization, implementation, and data accumulation for plasma particle measurement. It aims to build a foundation for data analysis using measurement science and informatics, and to accelerate collaboration and integration with diverse fields. Toward achieving carbon neutrality, it aims to create processes for material resource circulation through plasma-based material conversion. It also aims to create materials with new functions from low-dimensional materials and nanoparticles.

The Plasma Bio Division is a division of the Low-Temperature Plasma Science Research Center that works on applying low-temperature plasma to bio fields. Professor Hiromasa Tanaka and Associate Professor Kae Nakamura are introduced as the "Life Electronics" research group on the Department of Electronics page of the Graduate School of Engineering. The Department of Electronics page explains that solutions irradiated with plasma have been named "plasma-activated solutions," and that they have been found to have various effects on cells, tissues, and whole organisms. The members page lists plasma cancer treatment research and research aimed at plasma-based treatment of gynecologic cancer as faculty research themes.

The lab is one of the divisions of the Center for Low-temperature Plasma Sciences, and it studies how to scientifically understand the plasma processes used to make semiconductor devices. Using the center's plasma gas-phase and surface diagnostic technologies, the lab measures the density, energy, and spatiotemporal distribution of reactive atoms and molecules during processing. Building on this understanding, the lab aims to create innovative plasma manufacturing processes for next-generation semiconductor device integration.
