Bridging basic research results to practical use
The Translational Research Promotion Lab was launched as a graduate division of the Medical Development Department at the Institute for Advancement of Clinical and Translational Science, Kyoto University Hospital, and began accepting students entering in the 2022 academic year.
The Medical Development Department supports researchers aiming to develop new drugs, medical devices, diagnostics, and regenerative medicine, working with institutions inside and outside the university on obtaining patents, partnering with companies, and drawing up development strategies with practical use in mind, such as regulatory affairs.
The lab conducts research and education with the aim of training people who can provide this kind of support with a high level of expertise.
