Co-Creation Dentistry Lab
Machine-translated · View original
The lab develops medical materials through cross-disciplinary research and also works on creating guidelines.
AboutAbout the lab
Joining forces with other fields to create materials for medicine.
The Co-Creation Dentistry Lab conducts research centered on cross-disciplinary research and on industry-government-academia-citizen collaborative research.
Through education in integrated knowledge, the lab aims to train people who can take a broad, interdisciplinary view of oral science.
Through cross-disciplinary research, the lab develops medical materials such as nickel-free shape memory alloys, bioabsorbable metallic glass, and visible-light-responsive titanium oxide.
The lab's staff and students include not only graduates of dental schools but also people from diverse backgrounds such as engineering, medicine, pharmacy, and the humanities.
Key terms
- Translational research
- Research that connects results obtained in basic research to actual medical care and products
- Regulatory science
- The academic field that evaluates the quality, efficacy, and safety of medical devices and drugs from a scientific standpoint, and links this to review and regulatory decisions
- Shape memory alloy
- An alloy that, even after being deformed, returns to its original shape when heat or similar conditions are applied
- Metallic glass
- A metal whose atoms are not arranged in a regular pattern. Its properties differ from those of ordinary crystalline metals
ResearchResearch themes
Centered on cross-disciplinary research and industry-government-academia-citizen collaborative research, the lab conducts translational research and regulatory science research. Specifically, it develops cutting-edge medical materials and drafts guidelines for various medical devices and materials.
