Terui Lab

Akira Terui, Associate Professor

0 student voices

A computer algebra lab that handles mathematical expressions on computers and combines this with numerical computation.

The Terui Lab studies computer algebra, particularly the theory and applications of symbolic-numeric computation. Computer algebra is the direct handling of mathematical expressions by computer, or the theory behind it. Symbolic-numeric computation brings numerical methods into problems that exact symbolic computation could not solve, in order to reach meaningful answers. In computer algebra, the lab also emphasizes finishing computations in practical time, and develops theories and methods for this.

Ohyauchi Lab

Nao Ohyauchi, Assistant Professor

0 student voices

A mathematics lab that studies statistical estimation in non-regular cases.

The Ohyauchi Lab's research topic is statistical non-regular estimation theory. The faculty list of the Mathematics Degree Program describes the research as “a study of statistical non-regular estimation theory from a Bayesian approach.” Its research fields are registered as Applied Mathematics and Statistics, and Foundations of Mathematics. The professor's researcher information page (researchmap) lists papers and talks.
