The AI4DB (AI for Databases) lab studies AI for Data Enhancement. The lab aims to bring out the full potential of new data flows in the era of large models. The lab works on enhancing spatiotemporal data, enhancing image data, and developing applications that use low-quality data.

Associate Professor Shuntaro Yada works on research that applies natural language processing to social problems and implements it as systems. While building systems, the lab is attempting to turn expert knowledge into a form that can be computed. So far, the lab has built a system that summarizes and visualizes medical and clinical literature, and a system that supports school libraries. The lab pursues "computing for knowledge and language," which connects knowledge woven in words to the future through computational technology.
