The lab studies infections caused by Haemophilus influenzae and Streptococcus pneumoniae, with the aim of preventing them.

The Infectious Disease Control Project Lab studies infections caused by Haemophilus influenzae and Streptococcus pneumoniae. It investigates the ability of these bacteria to cause disease (virulence) and continues epidemiological surveys of where and how much infection is occurring. It also conducts clinical research to develop diagnostic and treatment methods for hard-to-treat respiratory infections. The lab also provides clinical care in the University Hospital's departments of pediatrics and infectious diseases and its infection control division, and responds to consultations from inside and outside the university.
