The lab considers the role of scholarship in the age of globalization by studying the processes through which cultures meet and change.

Once a culture is born, it moves across eras and spaces, changing form through repeated contact with other cultures. It is this kind of intercultural contact that has built human civilization. Building on the results of the Cultural Genesis Lab, the Cultural Interconnections Lab explores what scholarship should look like in the age of globalization by examining what happens in intercultural contact.
