A lab that explores how diseases arise through the mechanisms of the genome and cells.

The Research Promotion Unit of the Medical Institute of Bioregulation includes Associate Professor Takehito Uruno, Associate Professor Hiroki Shibata, and Assistant Professor Daisuke Tsuchimoto. The linked website belongs to Associate Professor Hiroki Shibata's genomics field, which focuses on genomic diversity and phenotypes and conducts research mainly using next-generation sequencers. Associate Professor Takehito Uruno studies signal transduction, cytoskeletal regulation, lipid metabolism, and disease control. Assistant Professor Daisuke Tsuchimoto studies the effects of damage to DNA and free nucleotides on mammals, as well as the body's defense mechanisms.
