Translational Data Ability (Sakurai) Lab
Machine-translated · View original
The lab analyzes the time evolution of large-scale data to predict the future.

AboutAbout the lab
Transforming society by predicting the future
Sakurai Lab studies technologies that use large-scale data to analyze, in real time, the time evolution of natural and social phenomena.
The lab develops pioneering technologies for optimizing social activities, and works to put them into practice in society while asking 'what technology is truly practical?'
Targeting IoT big data, the lab analyzes and learns the temporal changes of phenomena and activities with nonlinear dynamical models, discovers important patterns, and predicts future events.
Sakurai Lab belongs to the Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research at The University of Osaka, and is a cooperating chair (Intelligent Data Science Chair) of the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology.
Key terms
- IoT big data
- Large volumes of data obtained from various IoT devices and simulations
- Nonlinear dynamical model
- A mathematical model of phenomena that change over time, including relationships that cannot be expressed as simple proportionality
- Cooperating chair
- A system in which a lab belonging to the institute cooperates, as a graduate school chair, in guiding students

Ratings and reviews reflect the experiences of individual current or former students, not the lab's official views. Whether a lab has reviews, or how many, says nothing about the lab itself.
Students who take part in an interview may receive a thank-you gift worth ¥1,000, regardless of what they say.
