Naoya Enomoto, Associate Professor
0 student voices
The Enomoto Lab uses the ideas of representation theory, a branch of algebra, to study objects related to topology and integrable systems. The lab has worked on estimating the image of the Johnson homomorphism associated with the mapping class group of a surface, from the standpoint of representation theory. The lab has also studied the relationship between hyperplane arrangements and quasi-invariants, and published a joint research paper on it in 2024. On the researcher information page, quantum groups, Hecke algebras, crystal bases, and symmetric polynomials are also listed as research keywords.

Yuntao Wang, Associate Professor
0 student voices
The Wang Lab studies post-quantum cryptography, which remains secure even once quantum computers become practical. Conventional public-key cryptography such as RSA and elliptic curve cryptography is considered vulnerable to quantum computers. The lab therefore carries out the full range of research and development: constructing encryption and signature schemes, proving their security, evaluating parameters, building fast implementations, and developing applications.

Takeshi Sugawara, Associate Professor
0 student voices
The Sugawara Lab studies security problems at the interface between software and hardware. When information technology connects to real-world equipment, as in autonomous driving or automated factory operation, new threats emerge in hardware and the analog domain. The lab studies in advance what kinds of attacks are possible and what kinds of countermeasures are possible. Its research themes are attacks that deceive sensors, and side-channel attacks that exploit information leaking from devices implementing cryptography.

Tetsuji Takada
0 student voices
The Takada Lab studies security that is usable and easy to use, user authentication, web security, and related topics. Its research themes also include analysis of system logs, support for system operation, interactive systems, information visualization, and mobile systems. A recent paper addresses strengthening phishing countermeasures through real-time detection after a web page is displayed. The lab belongs to the Security Informatics Program of Class II (Interdisciplinary Fields) in the undergraduate school and to the Security Informatics Program of the Department of Informatics in the graduate school.

Kazuo Sakiyama, Professor
0 student voices
The Sakiyama-Li-Miyahara Lab studies security measures centered on cryptographic technology, as well as information security based on new concepts. The lab's website explains that attacks on information systems are a growing threat in the real world, and that increasingly sophisticated attackers cannot be ignored. Together with the Sugawara Lab and the Iwamoto-Watanabe Lab, the lab pursues next-generation security systems that increase the resilience of information infrastructure. For undergraduate thesis research, the lab accepts assignments in two separate groups: the Sakiyama-Miyahara Lab and the Li Lab.

Tomoaki Nakamura, Associate Professor
0 student voices
The Nakamura Lab aims to realize robots that autonomously acquire a wide range of abilities as humans do, and studies mathematical models of that learning. Humans are born immature, learn concepts and behaviors while adapting to their environment, and eventually become able to communicate with others through language. The elemental technologies obtained from this research are also applied to research on intelligent systems, such as analyzing children's behavior in nursery schools. On the lab's website, the lab is introduced under the name "Nakamura-Jiang Lab."

Yoshihiro Nakata, Associate Professor
0 student voices
The Nakata Lab conducts research related to robots, including actuators and android avatars. The lab's projects include integrated hybrid actuators, rehabilitation with robotic exoskeletons, and interaction between people and edible robots. The lab also works on social field trials of the android avatar Yui and on remote driving of hydraulic actuators.

Masafumi Uchida
0 student voices
The Uchida Lab researches and develops tools for a comfortable life by applying a variety of measurement technologies. Its research themes are balloon robots that swim through the air, fluctuation analysis to assess proficiency in a movement, and biological measurement developed from tactile display technology. On the lab's website, it invites interested students to come and visit the lab.

Yinlai Jiang, Associate Professor
0 student voices
The Jiang Lab researches welfare and nursing-care robots and rehabilitation using electrical stimulation. It works on sensors that measure biosignals such as myoelectric signals, functional electrical stimulation (FES) for paralyzed limbs, and walking aids that support independent walking in older adults. The lab's website is shared with the labs of Professor Yokoi and Associate Professor Togo, and the lab is presented there under the name "Yokoi-Jiang-Togo Lab."
