A research field that explores how biomolecules such as proteins carry out biological functions.

The Life Functions and Information field is part of the Division of Life Sciences at the Center for Computational Sciences. The field studies the mechanisms of biological functions carried out by functional biomacromolecules such as proteins, DNA, and RNA. The first approach investigates the dynamics and reaction mechanisms of functional biomacromolecules at the molecular, atomic, and electronic levels. The second approach investigates the interaction network systems of functional biomacromolecules at the level of biological information systems.
