Yosuke Mano, Professor
0 student voices
The Mano Lab studies urban planning and the practice of community development. Its main themes are urban and regional regeneration and earthquake reconstruction planning. It also addresses housing problems and residential area planning, which are issues of how people can keep living in a place.

Masashi Matsuoka, Professor
0 student voices
The Matsuoka Lab studies how to assess damage from wide-area disasters such as massive earthquakes and tsunamis, and how to evaluate urban environments. Using geoinformatics, such as GIS and remote sensing, it captures damage to urban structures such as buildings and to lifelines. It also applies machine learning on big data, and provides practical education that builds the ability to handle disaster information. The lab flexibly incorporates knowledge from a wide range of fields, including measurement technology, image processing, and information technology, and applies it to disaster prevention and urban environment evaluation.

Daiki Sato, Associate Professor
0 student voices
The Daiki Sato Lab specializes in structural engineering for buildings. It deals with super high-rise buildings, vibration-control and seismic-isolation structures, and wind-resistant design. It works on seismic safety evaluation and vibration-control retrofitting of super high-rise buildings against long-period ground motion. It also investigates how buildings actually move, using records observed in real buildings.

Naoki Kagi, Professor
0 student voices
The Kagi Lab studies the indoor air environment in buildings. Targeting pollutants suspended in the air, the lab assesses current conditions by measuring what cannot be seen. It investigates the sources of pollutants and how they behave within a space, then proposes measures that can be implemented through building design. Improving the indoor air environment is important for occupants to live safely, healthily, and comfortably.
