Teruoki Tago, Professor
0 student voices
The Tago-Fujitsuka Lab studies the synthesis of functional materials, including solid catalysts, and the design of catalysts based on catalytic reaction engineering. To address environmental and energy problems, the lab develops new materials and carries out analyses grounded in physical chemistry. It also works on proposing and developing catalytic reaction processes that incorporate these materials. The two pillars are research on improving the efficiency of petrochemical processes and research on putting biomass-related materials to use.

Shoichi Matsuda, Program-Specific Associate Professor
0 student voices
Matsuda Lab researches the search for electrochemical materials using automated experimental robots and data science. Its aim is to bring high-energy-density batteries and hydrogen production by water electrolysis into practical use in society sooner. By making experimental processes high-throughput, the lab collects large amounts of data in a short time, and applies data science methods to that data to discover new materials. Prof. Matsuda, a Project Associate Professor, is the team leader of the Electrochemical Smart Lab Team at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), and the lab accepts doctoral students through a cooperative graduate school arrangement.
