Hiroshi Sekigawa, Professor
0 student voices
Sekigawa Lab's research fields are computational algebra, symbolic computation, and symbolic-numeric computation. Professor Hiroshi Sekigawa belongs to the Department of Applied Mathematics at Tokyo University of Science, after working at a research laboratory of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, at Tokai University, and elsewhere. His doctoral thesis deals with a method for determining whether an algebraic number is zero using approximate computation, and with its application to symbolic computation algorithms.

Takeshi Kurosawa, Professor
0 student voices
The Kurosawa Lab uses statistical methods to study mathematical models that describe real-world phenomena. By finding patterns in data that looks random at first glance, statistical methods make it possible to infer what is acting on the subject of study. The lab pays particular attention to classification models, which use probability models to represent things such as spam email detection, weather forecasting, and the factors behind people's decisions when they choose products. Rather than data analysis itself, the lab focuses on theoretical research on evaluation criteria and statistical estimation methods for models related to classification problems, along with the computational methods for them.
