Tsutomu Iida, Professor
0 student voices
The Iida Lab works on developing energy conversion materials with a low environmental burden, as well as developing systems that use them. Its guiding theme is "energy conversion material development": materials that make the fullest possible use of the energy that is essential to human activity. The lab feels that climate change is already becoming apparent, and believes that improving energy and environmental problems requires research and development that looks years and even decades ahead. The research topics listed include CO2, climate change and energy; waste heat power generation technology; and space colony energy technology.

Taka-Aki Asoh, Professor
0 student voices
The Asoh Lab studies environmentally benign next-generation materials that function with low energy and a long lifetime. Using chemistry, the lab assembles polymer materials with new functions, such as soft actuators, self-healing materials, and joining of dissimilar materials. To bring out a material's function with little energy, the lab designs materials that respond to slight changes in temperature, pH, or strain. Another goal is to extend material lifetimes by giving them toughness and self-healing ability, thereby helping to reduce waste.
