0 student voices
The Banji Lab studies a variety of data obtained from humans. From the perspectives of ergonomics and data science, it deals with human responses ranging from subjective to objective and from conscious to unconscious. The lab is particularly interested in how people respond when they face a new system. It is exploring how "reality" is represented through data obtained from people.

Misako Kawahara
0 student voices
The Kawahara Lab studies how people read others' feelings using facial expressions and tone of voice as cues. It also focuses on how this way of reading emotions differs by age and culture. From the standpoint of experimental psychology, the lab investigates these questions using methods that measure eye movements and bodily responses. Using FACS, a method that describes facial expressions in terms of facial muscle movements, it also studies how emotions are expressed.
