A collaborative research lab where a company and a university take on the development of welding and joining technologies.

The Daihen Welding and Joining Collaborative Research Lab works on technology development to make welding and joining technologies more advanced and more efficient. It was established in April 2019 within the Joining and Welding Research Institute of Osaka University. The lab combines the welding and joining technologies and device development technologies of Daihen Corporation with the academic research of the Joining and Welding Research Institute and the education and research strengths of the Graduate School of Engineering's Division of Materials and Manufacturing Science. Another stated goal is for students and young engineers to take an active part in projects and grow into engineers and researchers who can succeed worldwide.
