A lab studying nuclear emulsion plates, photographic film that captures elementary particles.

The lab mainly uses nuclear emulsion technology, a photographic film that can record elementary particles, to study elementary particles, including neutrinos, which are tied to how the universe came to be. It also works on searching for unknown particles that are dark matter candidates and on seeing through huge structures using cosmic rays (cosmic-ray muon radiography). The lab also independently develops the photographic emulsion that is the raw material of nuclear emulsion plates, and track readout systems that read the tracks inside the plates. The lab's website goes by the name "F Lab (Fundamental Particle Lab)", and this introduction is based on text published in 2012.
