The Naruse Lab studies technologies for efficiently extracting energy from solid fuels such as waste and biomass while taking the environment into account. Through experiments and analysis, it investigates how ash and environmentally harmful substances are formed when solid fuels are burned, converted into gas, or used in ironmaking. The lab operates as the Environmental and Energy Engineering research group in the Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering.
