Ryuichiro Higashinaka, Professor
0 student voices
The Higashinaka Lab studies dialogue systems, which enable computers and people to communicate with each other through conversation. By actually building dialogue systems, the lab investigates why humans are able to hold conversations and what the basic principles of dialogue are. It also analyzes dialogue between humans, approaching the essence of dialogue from various perspectives. Members conduct research as part of one of the project teams.

Shigeki Matsubara, Professor
0 student voices
The Matsubara Lab conducts research on "scholarly communication" based on natural language processing. Its research is divided into four areas: language understanding and reasoning, conversation and discourse understanding, digital libraries, and education and learning support. In the area of digital libraries, the lab works on open science, research data management, paper mining, and metadata generation. Professor Shigeki Matsubara is a Professor at the Information Technology Center of Nagoya University and belongs to the Department of Intelligent Systems in the Graduate School of Informatics.

Yu Enokibori, Lecturer
0 student voices
The Enokibori Lab's research areas are ubiquitous and wearable computing, medical and nursing support, and skill analysis and instruction support. Lecturer Enokibori's personal page lists activity recognition and state assessment using wearable sensors as research areas, along with achievements up to around 2020. The lab's page is Lecturer Enokibori's personal page, and its address field reads Mase Lab.

Masahiro Nagao, Associate Professor
0 student voices
The Nagao Lab aims to make the "resources" and "information" buried in cities visible, and to design societies and energy systems with a small environmental burden. The lab combines vehicle-mounted and airborne laser measurement (LiDAR), 3D city models, and survey and behavioral data in its research. It works on understanding unused biomass and material stock, analyzing behavior change, and optimizing energy and environmental systems. Associate Professor Masahiro Nagao serves in the Department of Urban Environmental Studies in the Graduate School of Environmental Studies and in the Department of Natural Informatics in the School of Informatics.

Masashi Tachikawa, Professor
0 student voices
The faculty members from the Graduate School of Environmental Studies who teach in the Department of Human and Social Information Studies research food and agriculture, governance of science and technology, the environment, and local communities from a sociological perspective. Prof. Maruyama's lab, which has its own introductory website, addresses issues related to the relationship between humans and nature in a broad sense, as well as sustainability. Graduate students conduct research applying methods from environmental sociology, historical sociology, environmental history, and science and technology studies (STS).
