The lab supports a secure networked society through cryptography, from theory to the security of implementations.

The Information Security Lab (Abe-Tibouchi Lab) is a collaborative field launched through cooperation and partnership between Kyoto University and NTT. Research supervision is provided by NTT's Visiting Professor Masayuki Abe and Visiting Associate Professor Mehdi Tibouchi. Now that the Internet has become vital social infrastructure, information security is essential to keeping society running, and cryptography is its foundation. The lab studies a broad range, from the theory of fundamental security to proposals of applied protocols, with an eye toward post-quantum cryptography for the era of quantum computers. The lab is located in Integrated Research Building No. 7 on the Yoshida Campus, and students interested in security gather there from Japan and abroad.
