The lab develops new mathematical analysis from mathematical models of phenomena, as a research group in applied mathematics.

Applied mathematics is not merely a matter of applying pure mathematics to problems in physics and engineering; its aim is to create new mathematics through the study of mathematical models that describe phenomena. Within applied mathematics, the Applied Analysis division places emphasis on the analysis side, aiming to create new analysis while deepening the understanding of existing analysis. With "nonlinear analysis" and "inverse problem analysis" as keywords, the faculty members conduct research and education in close interaction with one another.
