The lab explores the higher-order brain functions that emerge when brain regions connect with one another, and the disorders that arise when those functions are disrupted.

The brain cannot function with a single region alone; the functions of individual regions must be integrated through the circuits formed among them. The lab studies the higher-order brain functions that arise when the functions of brain regions are integrated, and the mechanisms behind the symptoms that appear when they are disrupted, with the goal of leading to improved symptoms.
