The Next-Generation Manufacturing Innovation Promotion Hub is a joint research promotion hub established by Kyushu University and Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd. in October 2025. The hub aims to resolve the uncertainty caused by reliance on manual labor in manufacturing engineering chains and supply chains. Using mathematical and information technologies such as big data, AI, and optimization, it carries out interdisciplinary research across all academic fields. Associate Professor Tetsuhiro Moriyama specializes in topology, applied topology, and industry-academia collaboration.

The Applied Topology and Industry-Academia Collaboration Lab studies topology at the Institute of Mathematics for Industry. Besides studying configuration spaces of points and finite-type topological invariants, the lab also does research that uses topology in applied fields such as image analysis and multidimensional data analysis. Associate Professor Tetsuhiro Moriyama is in charge of industry-academia collaboration and the AIMaP project. Associate Professor Moriyama is also a member of the Next-Generation Manufacturing Innovation Promotion Hub, a joint research promotion hub established in October 2025 by Kyushu University and Sumitomo Wiring Systems.
