Koji Nuida, Professor
0 student voices
Professor Koji Nuida mainly researches the mathematics of cryptography and secure computation. In addition to secure computation technologies, the professor works on evaluating the mathematical security of cryptographic techniques, including post-quantum cryptography, and on the theoretical foundations of cryptography, including how to use pseudorandom numbers. In mathematics, the professor conducts research on combinatorial group theory, including the structure theory of Coxeter groups, as well as on combinatorics and discrete mathematics.

Yasuhiko Ikematsu, Associate Professor
0 student voices
Associate Professor Yasuhiko Ikematsu researches the development of post-quantum cryptography, which is believed to be hard to break even with quantum computers. The professor is particularly interested in multivariate polynomial cryptography, which is built on the difficulty of solving systems of multivariate quadratic equations. This type of cryptography is considered a leading candidate for post-quantum cryptography. However, its large public key size and the insufficient analysis using Gröbner bases remain challenges, and the lab aims to resolve them.

Associate Professor Yasuhiko Ikematsu's lab studies the development of post-quantum cryptography, which is considered hard to break even with quantum computers. It is particularly interested in multivariate polynomial cryptography, which is built on the hardness of solving systems of multivariate quadratic equations. Although multivariate polynomial cryptography is considered a strong candidate, it faces challenges: its public keys are large, and analysis using Gröbner bases is insufficient. The lab aims to resolve these challenges. The lab's website describes it as studying number theory and cryptography.
