The Cyber-Physical Computing Lab conducts research aimed at creating new computer architectures based on the integration of information science and electrical and electronic engineering. The lab explores mechanisms that efficiently process, in the cyber world, the large volumes of data generated in the real world and feed the results back to the real world, as well as the future computers that support them. In addition to computers that use new devices such as superconducting, quantum, and optical ones, the lab also studies secure computers and environmentally conscious computers. Fourth-year undergraduates are mainly students in the CM/EC courses of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and students in the EE course can also set their own research topics.

The Wireless Communications Lab studies multi-antenna signal processing and wireless communication methods, as well as applications of wireless sensing and wireless communication. Current themes include position estimation at construction sites, object detection using wireless LAN signals, and signal processing for MIMO systems that use many antennas. A faculty member in the lab also serves as a co-supervisor for graduate students at the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, a national university in Egypt. On the lab's website, the lab is presented under the name "Muta Lab."

Satoshi Ohshima, Associate Professor

The High Performance Computing Lab studies high performance computing, including parallel computing and the use of GPUs. Associate Professor Nanri researches the program execution environment on parallel computers, including dynamic optimization of communication libraries. The lab's website serves as a gateway to the websites of the Ohshima Lab, the Watanabe Lab, and the Nanri Lab.

The Information Systems Security Lab conducts research on realizing secure, high-performance information infrastructure, with a focus on cybersecurity. Its main themes include Moving Target Defense (MTD), threat traces for reproducing and analyzing attacks, and dynamic malware analysis. In addition to examining theory, the lab places importance on implementation and evaluation, and also builds practical skills through study sessions, round-robin reading seminars, and team participation in CTFs. On the lab's website, it is introduced under the name "Koide Lab."
