Moriyoshi-Kuboyama Lab
Machine-translated · View original
A lab studying engines and powertrains with the aim of achieving zero emissions for automobiles.

AboutAbout the lab
Minimal energy, zero emissions.
The Moriyoshi-Kuboyama Lab conducts research to minimize the energy used by automobiles and bring their emissions to zero (zero emissions).
In addition to research on internal combustion engines and fuels, the lab has so far carried out industry–academia collaborative research on powertrain control and calibration, including hybrid vehicle (HV) systems and transmission mechanisms.
Taking V2X into account, the lab is now working on making vehicles zero-emission within traffic flow.
The lab is run together with the Next-Generation Mobility Power Source Research Center, which is affiliated with the Institute of Engineering. The center conducts joint research with private companies such as automobile manufacturers and fuel companies.
Key terms
- Internal combustion engine
- An engine that burns fuel inside itself and uses the resulting force directly as power
- Powertrain
- The set of devices, such as the engine, motor, and transmission, that generate and transmit the power that drives a vehicle
- V2X
- A system in which a moving vehicle communicates with other vehicles and with traffic signals and roadside equipment to exchange information

ResearchResearch themes
Through industry–academia–government collaboration, the lab aims to minimize the energy used by automobiles, achieve zero emissions, reduce vibration and noise, and ensure robustness so that performance is maintained even when fuels change.
